I am a 82 year old woman with very painful arthritis in my knees and back. When I started working with Stephanie 5 years ago I was having difficulty walking around my very tiny house and getting up out of a chair. The pain was horrific at times. Through consistent patience and persistence Stephanie has gotten me to the point where I can take short walks around my neighborhood with my cane. I can also do my own housework again. I have returned to enjoying outings with family and friends. Where I had been home bound before. When I saw how much my husband was benefiting from his workout sessions under Stephanie's encouraging and expert direction, I decided that I could also become more flexible and gain in strength and overall fitness. So many older people give UP on exercise because they find it boring and so repetitive. Not with Stephanie. You will be amazed at all the different devices she brings to aid in your overall fitness. "Stephanie was a great personal trainer to work with. I was very impressed with the progress that she made with my mother-in-law. Having her come to our home was very convenient and made it much easier for my mother-in-law to have consistent exercise. Stephanie's outside of the box approach to building strength and stamina was very refreshing. Using items from around the house made exercise seem more familiar and less overwhelming. Initially I had no interest in working with Stephanie. I knew that I needed it but being a confirmed non exerciser, I was happy to stay that way. Problem was I was having difficulty walking. I began having a series of falls and after each fall I hurt more and could do less. Then I fell and broke a bone in my ankle. Not wanting to end up in a wheel chair I decided to seriously begin working out. It's not easy but with Stephanie's advice I've been able to do things I didn't think I was capable of. Like taking a cross country trip (via plane) to attend my son's wedding. Without Stephanie's help I would not have been able to undertake that trip by myself. I also did a bus trip of Civil War sites in the Virginia area with much walking. I was tired when I got home but very satisfied that I was able to do that trip. I made the decision to call Stephanie about a year ago and I'm very pleased to say that it was/is a good decision. Stephanie evaluated my abilities and weaknesses, gave me a work plan and worked with me to implement it. My biggest problem is not being consistent enough to see results. Through her guidance I've been able to exercise regularly and can see the positive effect it has on my whole being. That is bodily, mind, self esteem and self confidence. I'm well into my senior years and was not looking forward to aging, stiffness and the inability to do less and less. After working with Stephanie I'm feeling much more confident about my future.
